Off the Beaten Path (2015) : 3x8

Matej left his business in Bratislava behind and moved to the Mexico he had always loved. After training in local kitchens, he now runs his own bistro in the coastal town of Tulum, set along the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. With Matej as our guide, we spend a day in a Mayan village, helping prepare pork in a traditional underground oven and learning about their sophisticated farming methods. We explore local markets filled with some of the world’s hottest chilies, breathe in the aromas of freshly made tortillas that fill the streets each morning, and head out for a fishing trip. This corner of the world truly feels like paradise.
