Nova Scotia is Canada’s second smallest province, located on the country’s eastern coast. First settled by the French in 1605 and later by the British, it is now home to just over one million people, nearly half of whom live in the capital, Halifax. Beyond the city, the province offers rugged coastlines, lakes, and lush green landscapes. This setting, along with love, brought Ivana from Slovakia here. After 12 years in Canada, she recently moved to her husband’s hometown. Once a chemical engineer, she now helps people reintegrate into society. After life in sunny Cyprus, she found her true sense of home in Canada.
