Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean, known for its rugged coastline as well as its beautiful beaches. The island’s interior is shaped by mountains and rainforests, while sugarcane plantations once played a key role in its economy. Today, tourism accounts for a large share of the country’s income. With a hot and humid tropical climate, Jamaica’s weather was the first thing that captured Anita from Kováčová. Over time, the local culture won her over, and she decided to make the island her home. We begin our journey in the capital, Kingston, a vibrant city shaped by generations of immigrants. Despite their diverse roots, everyone here shares one thing in common, a strong pride in being Jamaican.
